Animenia is Abu Dhabi's first anime lifestyle festival, celebrating all things anime with a focus on community, fun and cosplay, from recreated anime scenes to Tokyo street food and J-Pop shows.
At Abu Dhabi's first anime festival, type A ran the full operation across five days at Manarat Al Saadiyat: 15,000 fans, with crowd management, health and safety, accreditation, traffic and security shaped around cosplay, stages and street-food culture.
A fandom crowd shows up in costume, gathers fast and photographs everything, which makes flow and sightlines their own challenge. We planned the site so crowds could form and clear naturally, keeping the community feeling free without ever feeling packed.
